The Voluntary Car Scheme has been set up to provide transport by car for disabled people or frail elderly people who find it impossible to use public transport either because there is no transport available or because they cannot walk to a bus stop or easily climb on and off a bus.

The Budleigh Salterton & District Voluntary Car Scheme aims to provide a service for eligible people living in the following places:

Budleigh Salterton, Colaton Raleigh, East Budleigh, Otterton, Woodbury, Woodbury Salterton and Yettington.

Transport is provided by volunteer drivers using their own cars.

Ron Smith, one of our drivers, collecting the fare from his passenger.

Jackie Marker, another of our drivers, helping the passengers she has taken to the Tuesday Luncheon Club at the Football Club.

The Cottage Hospital.  Many of our passengers are taken there for Day Care, chiropody, and other appointments.
